A Paid Summer Job to Build Your Future
The Summer Jobs Programme is a six-week initiative offering paid work experience to young people aged 16-20 who are at risk of violence, helping them gain skills, confidence, and a brighter future. Participants will have the opportunity to gain real work experience, develop career skills, and receive mentorship from a dedicated youth worker.
By taking part, young people will not only earn money but also boost their confidence, improve their job prospects, and connect with professionals who can support their future careers.
In 2024, The Summer Jobs Programme successfully completed its feasibility year, supporting over 400 young people across Greater Manchester, West Midlands, and London. In 2025, the programme will operate as a randomised control trial to assess its impact on youth violence. A total of 1,200 young people will be recruited, with 600 assigned to a control group and 600 participating in the programme as part of the experimental group.
