Building Futures: Spiral Skills Moves Into Oasis St Martins Village

We're thrilled to announce our new home at Oasis St Martins Village. This marks an exciting milestone in our journey supporting our youth community with a safe environment to grow, develop skills, and build their futures.

A SPACE TO THRIVE

Oasis St Martin’s Village is home to a whole range of community organisations and partners working together to provide wraparound support, education, sports, and a host of out-of-school opportunities for young people across south London.

As the name suggests, all their work is based on the principle that “it takes a village to raise a child.” They will be working with local schools and families to give children the opportunity to explore their strengths, skills, and creativity, with activities tailored to meet their interests. The village aspires to become a place of real community and growth together.

Oasis St Martins Village is part of Oasis UK, a national charity dedicated to building strong communities and tackling social inequality. Their vision aligns perfectly with our mission at Spiral Skills, and we are excited to contribute to this ambitious project.

As a founding partner, Spiral Skills is proud to be part of this dynamic and collaborative hub alongside other incredible youth-centred organisations, including:

  • Rekindle exists to spark a love of learning in working-class young people, supporting them to become confident critical thinkers.

  • Symphony Studios primarily serves young people from the African and Caribbean communities, creating a vibrant hub for academia, arts, and advocacy in South London.

  • Palace for Life Foundation works in partnership with local organisations to help improve the lives of young South Londoners. We’re looking forward to providing an inclusive sports and wellbeing programme at Oasis St Martins.

  • Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing believe everyone should have a decent home and the chance to live well. We’re one of the local housing providers in Tulse Hill. We offer training, events, and activities designed to boost employment opportunities and foster a stronger community.

  • Young Creators UK is an impact-led creative agency. Reimagining how creativity works with underrepresented young people. They harness joyful and disruptive creative culture to deliver unique work and create real change.

By working together, Spiral Skills and partner organisations at Oasis St Martins Village are creating a powerful ecosystem of support, fostering the growth of young people by building their confidence, providing hands-on experience, and equipping them with the tools to shape their futures.

What This Means for Young People

With this new space, we will be able to:

  • Host our programmes, workshops and events to develop, connect and empower 14-24-year-olds.

  • Provide a safe, aspirational and accessible environment where young talent can thrive.

  • Expand our mentoring and job placement programmes, ensuring that more young people receive the tailored support they need to kick-start their careers.

  • Collaborate with all the exciting partners in the building, supporting cross referrals into much-needed support services.
